Thank you for your interest in sponsoring a child! Sponsorship is $10/month. This goes towards:
1) Uniform: Your first month's donation will cover a uniform for your child. If they already have a uniform, it will go towards a sports uniform or a school sweater.
2) Teacher salaries: Providing salaries at par to what the government schools pay, so that we can hire qualified teachers and encourage them to stay, rather than looking for a different school that can pay more.
3) Food program: We serve lunch and breakfast at the school. We want to continue this, and make it more nutritious by adding meat and fruit daily.
4) Books: Text books and adding to the library
5) Scholastic materials: Things like chalk, paper, pens, prep books, etc.
6) Rebuilding the classrooms: We currently need $4000 to rebuild the nursery classrooms, so they are concrete and brick rather than dirt and tin.

May 2011: Proscovia, "Prossy", is a 7 year old beauty with big eyes and light brown hair. She loves attention and is the first to cling on to volunteers visiting. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up and enjoys playing with dolls and eating matoke, a Ugandan dish made of plantains. She lives with her Mom and is of the Mugandu ethnic group. Proscovia was able to participate in a school field trip to Wonder World this month, which she loved. She was also given medication for de-worming.

May 2011: Alex is a shy little boy. He is a twin to Opio Charles and has 2 younger brothers in the school as well; Okello Patrick and Omari Francis. They live with both parents and are of the Luo ethnic group. Alex is 8 years old and wants to be a driver when he grows up. His favourite thing to do it play soccer. Alex was able to participate this month in a school field trip to Wonder World, an amusement park. He and his brothers enjoyed it a lot! The photo of the boys below was taken at Wonder World, and Alex is second from right.
